Story কাহিনী

A farmer crushed by a moneylender's exploitation and by illness has four sons: Uday, Ajay, Ramen and the youngest, Bhaiti. Their mother is dead and an aunt looks after them. When the father dies suddenly, the boys give up the family land to the moneylender and move to town. Uday sells the aunt's bangles and starts a small business, which slowly grows. He marries Ajali, a gentle woman who, having no child of her own, raises the younger brothers with a mother's care. Ajay becomes a lawyer and Ramen a doctor.

When the two brothers marry, trouble begins in the house after their wives arrive, and both wives eventually leave. The once cheerful home turns silent. Uday dies, and Ajali takes up a widow's dress. In the end both daughters-in-law come to realise their faults and return to Ajali.
