Kokadeuta Nati aru Hati

Moina grows up in Nagaon with his grandfather, the mouzadar Sarbeswar Saikia, and his mother Lakhimi after losing his father young. His only playmate is his grandfather's beloved elephant Bukodar. When a friend of the mouzadar's family drowns on a pilgrimage, Saikia takes in the friend's granddaughter Makan as his own daughter, and Moina gains a new companion. After passing his matriculation with distinction, Moina goes to Guwahati for college, while Makan, unknown to him, is falling in love with him.

At the college hostel he shares a tiny room with three friends, nicknamed after cars (Fiat Hazarika, Ambassador Chaliha and Gazelle Bora), and even renames the hostel the Garage. Moina falls in love with Kanta, the only daughter of the industrialist Haragovinda Phukan, whose parents decide to marry her to him and offer to send him abroad at their own expense. Meanwhile Saikia has promised Makan's late grandfather that she will marry Moina. Moina refuses, quarrels with his grandfather and stays in Guwahati. When the proud Phukans visit the mouzadar to ask for the match, their arrogance offends him and he turns them away.

The film was produced by N. C. Dutta under the NC Productions banner and directed by Nip Barua.

It was released on 18 November 1983 and was very popular in the 1980s.
