1. Information we collect
You can browse and explore the Fita archive freely without creating an account or logging in. When you choose to interact with our community features, such as submitting a correction, proposing a missing film via the Contribute portal, or writing to our editorial desk, we collect:
- The contact details you provide (such as your name, email address, or phone number) so our editorial desk can acknowledge or follow up on your submission.
- The metadata, notes, or documentation you submit regarding films, artists, or songs.
- A secure, one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address recorded at the moment of submission solely for spam prevention and rate limiting. We do not store raw IP addresses in our submission logs.
2. What we do not do
Fita is a non-commercial cultural archive. We never sell, rent, monetize, or trade personal data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers, marketing pixels, or behavioral profiling scripts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate site performance, which operates without cookies and does not track users across the web.
3. Living persons and public archival records
Biographical entries on Fita document the public cinematic and cultural contributions of actors, directors, writers, singers, musicians, and crew members. This information is curated from publicly available historical publications, screen credits, censor certificates, press interviews, and archival materials for public reference and cultural preservation. If you are an artist or family representative and wish to update a biography, rectify credits, or request data corrections, write to our editorial desk and we will promptly review and update the record.
4. Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to request access to any personal data you have submitted, seek rectification of inaccurate information, or request deletion of your contact records. To exercise any of these rights, write to our Grievance Officer at grievance@watchfita.com.
5. Security and data retention
User-submitted edit proposals and contact messages are retained only as long as necessary to complete editorial verification and maintain attribution logs. All communication with Fita is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS and TLS protocols.
