Narakasur is a 1962 Assamese mythological film directed by Nip Barua. Its screenplay is based on Atul Chandra Hazarika's play of the same name. It centres on the asura king Narakasura of Pragjyotishpur.

Story কাহিনী

The film dramatises the legend of Narakasura, the asura king of Pragjyotishpur. The heroic Ghatotkacha and King Banasura also figure in the story.

Legacy

One print of Narakasur survives with the distributor Sada Chowdhury. Two of the film's popular songs are missing from it. This print was the one shown on Guwahati Doordarshan.
