Man Aru Maram

Manika works as a clerk in Bipul's company, a fact Bipul does not know at first. They meet by chance and their acquaintance turns into love. Bipul's mother would rather bring home Banu, the daughter of a wealthy family. Banu likes Bipul only as a friend, since her heart belongs to Pranay, a college teacher, and her father raises no objection to the match.

Bipul's mother grudgingly agrees to accept Manika, but the manager, Dutta, spoils things. He had long eyed Manika, and when he fails to get his way he spreads false rumours about her to her would-be mother-in-law. The mother turns against her and blocks the wedding.

When Bipul insists on marrying anyway, his mother falls ill. Manika takes on the role of a nurse and cares for her tirelessly until she recovers. Won over by this devotion, the mother finally consents to the marriage of her own accord.

Dwiban Baruah directed the film and also handled the music direction. It has five songs, with lyrics by Ajit Baruah and Hiren Bhattacharya. The tunes were composed by Brajen Baruah and Dwiban Baruah, and the singers were Dipen Baruah and Namita Bhattacharya.

In Dwiban Baruah's filmography, Man Aru Maram came after Jog Biyog (1971).
