Story কাহিনী

Jiwan and Jaan are brothers living in a village with their aged mother. Jiwan is married to Jeuti, and Maina, a simple unlettered village girl, grows up alongside Jaan; the two are drawn to each other.

When their mother dies for lack of a doctor, Jiwan vows to make Jaan a physician who will serve the village. He mortgages the house, land and jewellery to send his brother to the city, and Jaan never learns what it costs the family.

Once qualified, Jaan is swept up by city life, forgets Maina and the village, and grows close to a modern young woman named Rina, with whom he plans to go abroad. In time he comes to his senses and returns to the village he came from.
