1. The archive

Fita is an open-access, non-commercial cultural reference archive dedicated to Assamese-language cinema. It catalogs theatrical feature films, milestone VCD films, musical video films, artists, crew credits, songs, and industry awards. Fita provides factual metadata, editorial retrospectives, and verified links to official external platforms where works can be watched or streamed legally. Fita does not host, stream, distribute, or sell full-length films or recorded audio tracks.

2. Accuracy and sources

We cross-verify records against censor certifications, historical literature, archival posters, and official industry releases. However, archival documentation is provided on an "as is" basis. If any record, credit, or date requires correction, contributors and rights holders can use the "Suggest an edit" link on the respective page or reach our editorial desk directly.

3. Community contributions and submissions

When you submit corrections, missing films, credits, or historical trivia through our contribute or edit suggestion portals, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to provide it. You grant Fita a perpetual, non-exclusive permission to publish and incorporate the submitted metadata into the public reference archive, subject to editorial verification and moderation.

4. Community discussions and cinephile conduct

Film pages on Fita host community discussion streams intended for civil, constructive cinematic appreciation, critique, and archival research. By participating, you agree not to post abusive, unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or promotional content. While usernames are kept private, your public display name and comments are visible to the community. Fita reserves the right to moderate, hide, flag, or remove any comment, and suspend or ban accounts that violate community safety standards.

5. Intellectual property and archival fair dealing

Original film posters, publicity stills, lobby cards, audio-visual excerpts, and promotional artwork displayed on Fita remain the intellectual property of their original producers, copyright holders, and estates. Such visual materials are hosted and displayed strictly for non-profit historical documentation, critical commentary, educational identification, and cultural research under fair dealing principles (including Section 52(1)(a) of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957). Rights holders seeking attribution adjustments, credits updates, or content removal can contact grievance@watchfita.com for immediate action.

6. External streaming links and embedded media

Fita provides links to third-party streaming services (such as YouTube and OTT platforms) solely for research and user convenience. Embedded official trailers and streams are delivered directly via standard public platform embed players provided by those platforms. Fita does not control, host, or assume responsibility for external content, licensing availability, or the terms of third-party platforms.

7. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising in connection with the archive shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Guwahati, Assam.
