Story কাহিনী

A rich family looks for a husband for their daughter. The father wants her to marry the son of his friend, who lives in a village, but the mother and daughter prefer a non-resident Indian boy.

Production নিৰ্মাণ

Munin Barua directed for Pooja Motion Pictures, with music by Zubeen Garg and cinematography by Mrinal Kanti Das. Production ran from 7 September to 14 October 1999. It was the first Assamese film to be shot abroad.

Reception সমালোচনা

Released on 25 February 2000, the film became nearly every household's choice for a night at the cinema, was the top grossing Assamese film of 2000 and is now listed as the fourteenth highest grossing Assamese film.

Legacy

Its commercial success is credited with reviving the industry at the start of the 2000s, and it established Zubeen Garg as a leading film composer.
