Story কাহিনী
Two brothers unknowingly fall in love with the same young woman. What follows is a run of conflicts and acts of revenge that carry the story forward.
In the end the elder brother gives up his own life for the sake of the younger one.

Production নিৰ্মাণ
Munin Barua directed and Nilotpal Chaudhury produced. Zubeen Garg composed the music and, together with Digantta Bharati, wrote the lyrics. The songs were sung by Zubeen Garg, Saswati Phukan, Rupjyoti Devi, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Jonkey Borthakur and Digantta Bharati.
The track about childhood memories returning to the heart is notable as the first song Zubeen Garg and Digantta Bharati sang together, and it marked Bharati's debut as a playback singer. Tracks 8 and 9 on the album are bonus tracks that do not appear in the film.
The cast also includes Pranjal Saikia, Mridula Baruah, Nipon Goswami, Purnima Saikia, Arun Nath, Arun Hazarika and Chetana Das.

The songs of the film remain evergreen and are still very popular.
Legacy
In Munin Barua's filmography, Daag came after Prabhati Pokhir Gaan (1992) and Hiya Diya Niya (2000) and was followed by Kanyadaan (2002) and Bidhata (2003).
