Jugantoror Tejal Puwa

The film opens with the murder of a young journalist, Ajay. He held a secret file documenting the crimes of the villain Dharani Choudhury, a powerful man with good connections among police officers and politicians. Choudhury has Ajay killed but fails to recover the file, and believes Ajay's friend Gaurav knows where it is.

To get the file, Choudhury uses various schemes. When a newspaper editor, Prakash Dutta, keeps writing against him, he is killed too, and Gaurav is marked for death. Gaurav and a group of rebellious young men take a stand against Choudhury. Even Choudhury's daughter Mayuri, who loves Gaurav, sides against her father. In the end, Choudhury is shot dead by his own wife.

Swapna Films made the film. Jones Mahalia directed, and Swapna Saikia and Anup Khandelia produced. The screenplay and dialogue were written by Mukut Mani Saikia and Jones Mahalia. Debojit Choudhury composed the music, with lyrics by Apurba Jyoti Bhuyan. Singers include Shanta Ujir, Dilip Choudhury, Debojit Choudhury, Arpana Choudhury, Ritu Bikash, Chemima Begum and Pulak Banerjee.

Jones Mahalia's earlier films Duranir Rang and Bohagor Duporia were box office successes, but Jugantoror Tejal Puwa did poorly at the box office.
