Kanyadaan

The story is set in a joint family in a place called Bokulpur. Utpal (Jatin Bora), the youngest son, falls in love with a girl from a wealthy background in the town. He has three brothers and three sisters-in-law. The sisters-in-law know about his feeling for the girl, but the brothers do not.

The film is a social drama that presents a simple middle-class family.

Munin Barua directed and wrote the film, which was produced by C. S. Narayan and Swaraj Das. Jatin Bora, Mridula Baruah, Bhaskar Bora, Purabi Sharma, Madhurima Choudhury and Rituparna Kataki played the main roles.

Zubeen Garg composed the music. The lyricists were Zubeen Garg, Digantabharati and Manas Robin, and the singers included Zubeen Garg, Kalpana Patowary, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Sashwati Phukan, Nirmali Das, Mitali Barkatoki, Zanki Barthakur and Manas Robin. Nearly all six songs became very popular.
