Biography জীৱনী
Dwiban Baruah was a pioneering figure of Assamese cinema who worked as a producer, director, music director, playback singer, actor and screenwriter. He directed seven films in all, and his debut as a director was Jog Biyog, released in 1971.
He belonged to the large Baruah family of Guwahati, nine brothers and four sisters, nearly all of whom were later connected with Assamese films in some way. The household was a musical one, and Dwiban played the tabla in the evening family sessions.
As an actor he appeared in Maak Aru Morom (1957), Taramai (1975), Morom (1978) and Man Aru Maram (1980). In Man Aru Maram he also composed the music, and the database lists him as director of that film as well.
