Story কাহিনী
Surabhi and Minati are sisters from a well-off family. Surabhi marries the advocate Dipak Chowdhury, while Minati marries the schoolteacher Anil Kalita for love, against her family's wishes. Minati has two children, Son and Jon. Surabhi has none, and the lack weighs heavily on her.
Anil overworks to earn and his health fails; a road accident then costs him a leg, and poverty overtakes the family. Minati goes to Surabhi for money for his treatment, and Surabhi gives it in exchange for Jon. Minati vows never to take Jon back. Son dies for lack of treatment after being drenched in rain, leaving Minati without a child despite having had two. Advocate Chowdhury, seeing their plight, quietly brings them from the village to the town and arranges rented lodging.
Jon grows up and joins college. One day he knocks into Anil while driving, takes him home, and Minati feeds him with a mother's affection. When Jon tells this at home, Surabhi is gripped by the fear that Minati will take him away. Anil takes Minati back to the village and later dies, and Minati, bound by her old promise, cannot reveal herself to her son. Finally Jon learns the truth and goes to the village to find his birth mother, and Surabhi and Dipak Chowdhury follow after him.
