Dhunu is now in her late teens. She still climbs trees, swims and dreams of keeping her childhood life as a guitarist alive with her band. But life does not unfold as she wishes, and as she meets its bitter and sweet moments she stands on the threshold of leaving a happy childhood behind.

As with the first film, Rima Das wrote, edited, produced and directed, and shot the picture as well. Bhanita Das returns in the title role. The film is an Indian-Singaporean co-production.

It had its world premiere on 4 October 2024 at the 29th Busan International Film Festival, where it competed in the Kim Jiseok section and won the Kim Jiseok Award. It was selected for the South Asia Competition at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024, the Generation 14plus section of the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, where it had its European premiere on 16 February 2025, and the Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival and the Malaysia International Film Festival. Critics praised Bhanita Das's low-key, naturalistic performance and Das's subtle approach, which gives the film the feel of a documentary about a land under pressure from climate change and competition for resources.

The sequel confirmed Das's place as one of Indian cinema's most distinctive independent voices.
