Dhunia Tirutabur

Borgohain, a respected journalist, is on his way to the countryside for a break when his car breaks down on a rainy night and a nearby mechanic comes to fix it. Recognising him, the mechanic asks for a favour. He has been pining for a beautiful maid who accompanied a film unit shooting in the countryside, the personal helper of a leading actress who has since vanished from the industry. Out of curiosity Borgohain agrees to look for her. More a love story than a conventional mystery, his search takes him through the world of show business and make-believe.

Deka directed and wrote, and produced with Pankaj Kalita under Arc Lights. Angaraag Mahanta composed the music. Jatin Bora, Sanjeev Hazarika, Indra Bania and Nayan Prasad appear in special roles.

It was released on 9 January 2009, alongside the short film Lakhimi and Abhimani Mon, and won three Assam State Film Awards in 2010, for Best Director, Best Editor and Best Make-up.

In Prodyut Kumar Deka's filmography, Dhunia Tirutabur was followed by Samiran Barua Ahi Ase (2012) and Surjasta (2013).
