Jeevan Baator Logori

Pabitra Baruah is a high school principal, living contentedly with his wife Prafulli and their studious twins, Pritom and Tarali. The twins top their matriculation and leave for Guwahati to study, but their proud parents do not realise that they have left for good. Pritom later goes to the United States on a scholarship, returns to a multinational firm in Mumbai and marries his boss's daughter. Tarali marries an American and settles abroad. Neither comes home when their mother dies.

Across the village, the farmer Dinanath Bora and his teacher wife Nirmali worry that their children Mohen and Malati neglect their studies. The children fail their exams, but their parents help them find other paths. Mohen takes a loan, buys a tractor and throws himself into farming, and Malati forms a self-help group with other village girls.

Timothy Das Hanche directed under the Hills Motion Pictures Association banner of Diphu. The film moves between rural and urban Assam and was shot in CinemaScope on 35 mm. It touches on unemployment, a chaotic education system and low agricultural productivity, and argues that young people should embrace modernity without discarding traditional values.

It is notable as a feature produced in the Karbi Anglong hills, away from Guwahati's main film circuit.
