Story কাহিনী
Leelavati belongs to the tea-tribe community and works in a tea garden, as does her husband Haru. One day Haru dies of a snakebite while at work. She asks the management for compensation, but is refused on the pretext that no post-mortem was done. With great hardship she raises her three children, marries off her two daughters, and begins arranging the wedding of her only son Shibu. Then an accident at the garden factory kills Shibu as well.
Having lost her husband and son, Leelavati loses her mental balance. She leaves the garden, takes to haria (rice beer) to ease her pain, and starts roaming from village to village in search of number seven.
In her disturbed state she holds seven people responsible for the endless misfortune of her life, among them garden officials and a union leader. She goes to a healer and asks him to punish them through magic and charms. Before him she names six enemies, but cannot recall the seventh. Travelling the villages to find that seventh enemy becomes the aim of her life.
