Haanduk

An elderly woman named Hermoni finds a mutilated, bullet-ridden body at her doorstep and begins to ask whether it could be her son Mukti, who left years earlier to join a radical insurgent group. She contacts Mukti's childhood friend Sewali, who still waits for him. Meanwhile another member of the group, Biplop, has returned to the village, having renounced his membership and hoping to bring sanity back to his life.

Dohutia began writing in 2012, and in 2013 met the writer Bhaskar Jyoti Das, who became co-writer of the final draft. The script was selected as a finalist by the NFDC Film Bazaar, and the film developed through its Work in Progress Lab as a Film Bazaar Recommends title. The film was produced by Mayamara Productions. Dohutia cast non-professional actors, some of them local villagers and others professionals in different fields, among them Bandoi Chetia, Bishal Anurag, Nivedita Baruah and Jitu Moran, and his crew were friends. Cinematographer Chida Bora shot it in 19 days on a Canon EOS 5D Mark III. The dialogue is in Assamese and the Moran language.
