Maj Rati Keteki

After more than ten years, the renowned writer Priyendu Hazarika returns to the town where he was first inspired to write. A book can imitate its author's life, and the book here is an imaginary one, A River Runs Ashore, woven into the film as a story within a story. Memories stir and he remembers the people he loved and lost, giving shape to a saga of childhood and loss in rustic North Guwahati. He admits that he lacks the courage to weave a painful, harsh truth into his stories, and at last decides to face his own truth alone, away from the appreciative audience.

Bardoloi wrote and directed, with music by Anurag Saikia. The cast includes Adil Hussain, Shakil Imtiaz, Mahendra Rabha and Sulakshana Baruah.

The film was released on 27 October 2017. Adil Hussain received a National Film Award Special Mention in the feature film category at the 64th National Film Awards.

In Santwana Bardoloi's filmography, Maj Rati Keteki came after Adajya (1996).
