Story কাহিনী
A plaque is accidentally found in a burial on a remote riverbank, revealing that a man suffered at the hands of the British. The villagers decide he was a freedom fighter and a martyr. The government, hoping for political gain, announces a statue, but there is no record of what he looked like, not even a photograph.
His descendants try to imagine his face from inherited features, comparing different generations to put together a probable person. Gradually they realise that a real man is found in his works, not his appearance, and set out to discover what he did. Meanwhile the elders argue over caste, the young are caught up in the celebrations and the government pursues political advantage. In the end the children give shape to what they have found in a play that lets the village see into the past of a man, a village and an era.
