Mahapurush is an Assamese film released on 29 August 2014, produced by Dilip Kumar Baruah and directed by Brajen Bora, who also wrote it and plays the lead. It is described as the last Assamese film made on celluloid, and it presents the ideals of Anukul Thakur.

Production নিৰ্মাণ

The film was made under the Joy Guru Cine Production banner. Dilip Kumar Baruah produced it. Brajen Bora wrote the story, screenplay, dialogue and lyrics, directed, handled the cinematography, and acted in the main role. Abhi-Rupam was the music director, and Zubeen Garg and Mitali Chowdhury were among the singers. The cast also included Pranjal Saikia, Hadi Alam Bora, Dinesh Das, Asim Baishya, Pramod Baruah, Gayatri Mahanta, Madhurima Chowdhury, Chetana Das and Atul Pachani.

The film waited close to a decade for release before reaching audiences in 2014. Its shooting was ceremonially launched at Deoghar in Jharkhand by Binkida, a great-grandson of Anukul Thakur.
