Angoorlata Deka

Angoorlata Deka is an Assamese actress and politician from Nalbari. She entered films in the mid-2000s and has since taken major roles in Assamese cinema, including Bakor Putek (2012), Surjasta (2013), Jeeya Jurir Xubax and Hiya Diba Kak (both 2014). She was nominated for Best Actress in Assamese cinema at the 2013 Filmfare Awards East for Surjasta, and has also acted in short films and mobile theatre.

She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in December 2015 and won the Batadroba seat in the Assam Legislative Assembly in 2016, losing it in 2021. She later held party and cultural posts and, in August 2025, became chairperson of the Assam State Commission for Women. After nearly a decade away from the screen, she returned to Assamese cinema in 2025 with Roi Roi Binale.
