Purab Ki Awaaz

Kanaklata became a martyr of the Indian freedom struggle at 14, shot by the British on 20 September 1942 while trying to hoist the national flag. The film depicts her life and sacrifice.

Chandra Mudoi directed and Loknath Deka produced under the banner of L.P.K.G. Film Production, as a bilingual project: this Hindi version and an Assamese version titled Epah Phulil Epah Soril. It features Urmila Mahanta, Nipon Goswami, Debashis Borthakur and Rina Bora. Music was by Dr Hitesh Baruah, Ajay Phukan and Tapan Kakati, cinematography by Naba Kumar Das and editing by Syamal Das.

The film opened across India on 10 March 2017, with an Assam release announced for August that year.
