Story কাহিনী

The story revolves around a mouzadar, the family of a tea cultivator, and a Marwari moneylender who poses as an ascetic. It moves through fraud, murder and deceit, and in the end the dream of the title, the dream of a dawn after the night, comes true.

Phani Sarma directed the film and wrote both the story and the screenplay. It was produced by Gama Prasad Agarwala under the Rupjyoti Productions banner.

The cast included Eva Acharya, Gyanada Kakati, Tasaduq Yusuf, Durga Goswami, Phani Sarma, Nitya Mahanta, Praveen Phukan, Kulen Goswami and Nabin Goswami. Biraj Das drew praise for playing a notorious Marwari black marketeer who never stops chanting religious phrases as a cover.

Bhupen Hazarika directed the music and wrote the songs. They were sung by Bhupen Hazarika, Ila Chakravarty and Biraja Das.
