Story কাহিনী

Maheswar, his wife Muhita, their marriageable daughter Golapi and son Tukuru make a small family. Maheswar is outspoken and quick to anger, while Golapi is composed. One day the couple quarrel and Muhita goes with Golapi to her mother's home in the same village, leaving Tukuru with his father. Tukuru feels lonely and urges his father to bring his mother back. Maheswar misses his wife but his pride keeps him from fetching her, and Muhita is equally stubborn. Tukuru leaves school to help at home and meets his mother when he takes the cattle to graze, and from him Maheswar hears that she is still attached to him, which softens his feelings. Meanwhile Golapi loves Konaloora, the son of the village bayan, and the villains Satram, a cheat, and his son Deven, a local bully, trouble them. In the end the esteemed Maheswar saves even the two villains.

Nalin Duwara directed and shot the film, his first as director. He had studied cinematography at St Xavier's Technical Institute in Mumbai and had worked on many Bengali and Assamese films. He produced with Prafulla Dutta and Siva Thakur, all from Golaghat. Thakur, who later became a leading Assamese director, also played the villain and assistant directed. The music is by the pair known as Basanta-Manik, Manik Bora and Basanta Bordoloi. Rudra Baruah and Eva Achow play the leads.
