Story কাহিনী
The story speaks for thousands of workers on thousands of Assam's tea estates. Behind the miles of green tea leaf raised by their sweat lie generations of superstition and the bad habits of workers denied the light of education. Yet a section of people keep coming forward with enthusiasm to give these long-neglected workers a place in society as human beings, and the film tries to bring all this out.
The setting is the period before independence. Jagannath, the second head clerk of the Rangdoi tea garden, mixes with the workers and takes part in welfare work, and the workers hold him dear. One day he argues with the garden doctor over the lack of medicines at the estate hospital, and he loses his job.
