জেতুকী

Jetuki is a 1987 black-and-white Assamese drama produced and directed by Chandra Talukdar under the Chandrajyoti Chalachitra banner. It is regarded as the last Assamese film shot in black and white. Bidya Rao plays the title role.

জেতুকী ১৯৮৭ চনত মুক্তি পোৱা এখন ক’লা-বগা অসমীয়া নাট্যধৰ্মী ছবি। চন্দ্ৰজ্যোতি চলচ্চিত্ৰৰ বেনাৰত চন্দ্ৰ তালুকদাৰে ছবিখন প্ৰযোজনা আৰু পৰিচালনা কৰিছিল। ইয়াক অসমীয়া ক’লা-বগা ছবিৰ ভিতৰত শেষখন বুলি গণ্য কৰা হয়। নাম ভূমিকাত অভিনয় কৰিছে বিদ্যা ৰাৱে।

Story কাহিনী

Jetuki is a simple, poor village girl. She falls in love with Pradip, the son of a wealthy city family, but his father opposes the match. Pradip leaves home and marries her, and the couple have a son.

The story moves through a series of events and closes with Pradip's father welcoming his son, daughter-in-law and grandson back into the family.

Production নিৰ্মাণ

Chandra Talukdar produced and directed the film and also wrote its story and screenplay. Sujit Sinha composed the music and handled the cinematography. Songs carry lyrics by Sujit Sinha and Hemanta Dutta, and the playback singers include Hemlata, Pulak Banerjee, Alpana Mahanta, Naren Baruah, Runu Choudhury, Adil Shah and Anjana Baruah.

The producer completed the film many years after production began, and only then was it able to reach cinemas. Mrinal Kumar plays opposite Bidya Rao, and Biju Phukan appears in a small guest role in a song sequence.
