The film was produced by Sanjive Narain under his AM Television banner in association with Ramdhenu Films and White Flower, with music by Anurag Saikia. It was selected for the Goa Film Bazaar at the International Film Festival of India in 2011, one of only four projects invited from 23 to the Producer Lab at CineMart of the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2012, the first Assamese project to be invited there.

The finished film was invited to the Video Library at the 32nd Guadalajara International Film Festival in Mexico, to the Cinekid screening club in Amsterdam in 2017 and to the Competitive Panorama of the 10th International Children's Film Festival in Bangladesh in 2017. It collected a special citation at the Salamindanaw Asian Film Festival in the Philippines, Best Children's Film, Best Cinematography and Best Story at the Haryana International Film Festival, six awards at the International Film Festival of Ahmednagar in 2019 including Best Film and Best Director, and Best Debut Director, Best Music and Best Singer at the Prag Cine Awards 2019. At the State Film Awards 2018 it won Best Debut Director, Best Music and Best Child Actor.
