Nalin Duwara

Nalin Duwara (born 22 June 1928) was a director and cinematographer of Assamese cinema. He was born in what was then Sibsagar district, now Golaghat district, to a family that owned tea gardens. After schooling in Golaghat he studied at St Anthony's and St Edmund's College in Shillong.

In 1947 he enrolled in a two-year motion picture photography course at the Abdullah Fazalbhoy Institute of St Xavier's in Mumbai. He then worked as an assistant cameraman at Indralok and Indrapuri studios in Kolkata, where he came into contact with directors such as Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Bimal Roy.

As a director his Assamese films in our database are Mamata (1973) and Ratanlal (1975). He also worked behind the camera on Antony Mor Naam (1986).
