Story কাহিনী

Manav, a 27-year-old Assamese man returning home from Rajasthan, runs into the anger of illegal immigrants and land grabbers on the very night he arrives. He and his elder brother's family move at once to the home of Prabha, his brother's wife, whose father advises them to build a house by the river. Prabha's husband Kosheswar follows the advice, while Manav sets out to recover the seized plot of land with the help of a businessman, Mr Jain.

While Manav is absorbed in his campaign, floods destroy his brother's house. Prabha now works as a domestic helper in the home of a widower, Vidyadhar, whose unwelcome attention forces her to struggle with deep inner turmoil. Manav takes a job at a new factory started by Jain, where local unemployed youths demand full local employment and tension rises. Jain, meanwhile, thinks only of his profits and decides accordingly.

At a flood relief camp Manav meets Tara, Vidyadhar's daughter, a cultured young woman. Gradually he comes to see that he must make his own way and pursue a path of self-discovery instead of depending on others.
