অনিৰ্বাণ

Anirban is a 1981 black and white Assamese film, the second directed by Bhabendra Nath Saikia. It is adapted from his own 1960 short story Prahari, contains no songs, and won the national award for best film in Assamese.

Anirban was Bhabendra Nath Saikia's second film as director. As with his other films, the story came from one of his own short stories, here Prahari, written in 1960. He also wrote the screenplay and dialogue. His wife, Preeti Saikia, produced it. The film has no songs and was shot in black and white.

The cast included Bhola Kataki, Runu Goswami, Sangeeta Saikia, Ananda Mohan Bhagawati, Utpal Chakraborty, Hemanta Dutta, Bidyut Chakraborty, Babita Sharma, Kamini Barua, Ritu Das, Ananta Gogoi, Ishan Barua and Chirantan Hazarika. The technical team included Arun Guha Thakurta as technical assistant, Gunasindhu Hazarika and Manik Bora as assistant directors, Piyush Kanti Roy on sound and Debi Haldar on make-up. It was released on 6 February 1981 per the database.

Reception সমালোচনা

In 1981 Anirban won the national award (Rajat Kamal, the Silver Lotus) for best film in an Assamese-language category.

Legacy

In Bhabendra Nath Saikia's filmography, Anirban came after Sandyaraag (1977) and was followed by Agnisnaan (1985) and Sarothi (1991).
