Moirangthem Maniram Singha (born 1970) is a filmmaker, producer and scriptwriter who works in Assamese and Manipuri cinema. He was born in Manipur and lives in North Lakhimpur, Assam. His father came to Assam as a teenager and ran a tailoring shop beside a cinema hall in Tinsukia, which gave the young Maniram the chance to watch almost every film that played there.
He acted in and then scripted and directed a one-act play at school, and in 1990 worked as an assistant director on an Assamese video film. Entirely self-taught, he went on to make more than 25 television serials, documentaries and telefilms in English, Assamese and Meitei for Doordarshan and government departments from 1995 onward.
His feature debut in Assamese cinema was Mon Jaai (2008), made under his own banner Moirangthem Movies and headed by Zubeen Garg and Pabitra Margherita among others. It won the National Film Award for Best Assamese Film at the 56th National Film Awards. His later feature Xondhikhyon followed in 2016.
