Biography জীৱনী
Prabhat Mukherjee (1917-1997), born in Kolkata, was a film director, actor and writer who worked mainly in Bengali, with films also in Assamese, Odia and Hindi. He began at All India Radio, started acting in Bengali films in 1950 and directed his first film, Maa, in 1956.
His Assamese connection is Puberun (1959), which he directed and for which he also wrote the screenplay. The film was screened at the Berlin Film Festival in 1960. His other work includes the Bengali film Bicharak, which won a National Film Award, several Odia films, and the Hindi biopic Shayar-e-Kashmir Mahjoor (1972).
প্ৰভাত মুখাৰ্জী (1917-1997), কলিকতাত জন্ম, এজন চলচ্চিত্ৰ পৰিচালক, অভিনেতা আৰু লেখক, যিয়ে মূলতঃ বঙালী ভাষাত কাম কৰিছিল আৰু অসমীয়া, উৰিয়া আৰু হিন্দী ছবিও নিৰ্মাণ কৰে। আকাশবাণীত কৰ্মজীৱন আৰম্ভ কৰি তেওঁ ১৯৫০ চনত বঙালী ছবিত অভিনয় কৰিবলৈ লয় আৰু ১৯৫৬ চনত প্ৰথম ছবি ‘মা’ পৰিচালনা কৰে।
অসমীয়া চলচ্চিত্ৰৰ সৈতে তেওঁৰ সংযোগ ‘পূবেৰুণ’ (1959) ছবিৰে। ছবিখন তেওঁ পৰিচালনা কৰে আৰু ইয়াৰ চিত্ৰনাট্যও লিখে। ১৯৬০ চনত বাৰ্লিন চলচ্চিত্ৰ মহোৎসৱত ছবিখন প্ৰদৰ্শিত হয়। তেওঁৰ অন্যান্য কামৰ ভিতৰত আছে ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় বঁটা লাভ কৰা বঙালী ছবি ‘বিচাৰক’, কেইবাখনো উৰিয়া ছবি আৰু হিন্দী জীৱনীছবি ‘শায়েৰ-ই-কাশ্মীৰ মহজুৰ’ (1972)।
