Boomba Ride

Boomba is the only student in a lower primary school, and the teachers' chief worry is keeping it open. When things go wrong, Boomba draws on his own common sense to save the school just as it is about to collapse, making everyone see what education can do for a community.

Bora wrote the film with his wife Lopamudra Gogoi and produced it with others for ML Entertainment and Quartermoon Productions. Shooting took 13 continuous days in November and December 2020 in the village of Bormukoli in Golaghat district, where Mising is the main language. The filmmakers chose a few local people and trained them as the cast.

Reviewers likened Boomba to the children of Satyajit Ray and Abbas Kiarostami, such as the boy in Where Is the Friend's House, caught inside a rigid school system but determined to face the foolishness of adults. They also admired how every child in the film is given an imperfect, believable personality: they bully, show off, and doubt themselves.

In Biswajeet Bora's filmography, Boomba Ride came after Bahniman (2016) and Raktabeez (2018).
