Anur: Eyes on the sunshine

The narrative follows Anupama Baruah, an aging retired schoolteacher living alone in an empty house after the death of her husband. Her structured yet lonely life is disrupted by the entry of Loshit, an elderly widower, prompting an emotional awakening and confronting her with societal attitudes toward late-life companionship.

Monjul Baruah directed the film from a screenplay based on Anuradha Sharma Pujari's short story Bhal Poar Xomoi. Dr. Jahanara Begum stars in the central role, alongside Rajat Kapoor, Boloram Das, Udayan Duarah and Bibhuti Bhushan Hazarika. The film was produced by Chiranjit Ghosh and Monjul Baruah.

Anur won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Assamese at the 69th National Film Awards, and lead actress Dr. Jahanara Begum received a Special Jury Mention for her poignant performance.
